CENTERpiece Mural Project
Making Public Art a Piece of Center City
The CENTERpiece Mural Project is a public arts initiative that aims to bring beautiful artwork to outdoor spaces in the Center City District.
Through a unique partnership with Art Attack Mural Blast - an interactive painting event held during the Midland Center for the Arts Summer Art Fair - the Center City Authority is the proud owner of 5 pre-painted, mountable 8'x12' murals. The plan? To make these murals a part of our Center City landscape!
Murals will be framed and attached directly to buildings' masonry surfaces and, as Art Attack produces new murals each year, artwork will be changed out to include new pieces and new locations!
Locations for the 2019 CENTERpiece murals are still being finalized, so check back to this page for updates on this project throughout the summer!
Want to get involved? Apply to host a mural!
The CENTERpiece Mural Project needs support from businesses in the district to make it happen. Here are a few ways you can get involved with the initiative:
Host a Mural
Be a direct participant in the CENTERpiece Mural Project by hosting a mural on your property! The Center City Authority will provide completed artwork, frame the piece, and handle the installation, removal, and maintenance of murals and any associated costs. There is no fee to host a mural.
Sponsor a Mural
Show the community your commitment to public arts by choosing to sponsor a CENTERpiece mural! Mural hosts can sponsor their own mural; however, you don't have to host a mural to sponsor a piece of artwork.
A $750 mural sponsorship includes:
- A 2' x 2' plaque that features the sponsor's business name and logo
- Business name and logo featured on all CENTERpiece marketing materials
- Sponsorship recognition on Center City Authority social media and website
To express interest in a mural sponsorship, please contact the Center City Authority at 989-837-3310 or click on the button below to fill out an inquiry form! A member of the City of Midland staff will be in touch with you to discuss further details.
