Center City Redevelopment Plan

Future development of the Midland Center City business district will be the topic of two days of workshops.

Input from the focus groups, led by MKSK of Detroit, will help shape the vision for Center City and identify short- and long-term development projects for the district.

Please register so that we know number of attendees per session.

The Center City district is made up of 225 businesses and properties in the South Saginaw Road/Ashman Circle commercial corridor extending from Manor Drive to Patrick Road and including portions of Washington, Ashman and Rodd Streets. The Center City district was established as a tax increment financing (TIF) district in 2012 in an effort to correct and prevent deterioration in the business district, support historic preservation and promote economic growth through the use of TIF revenues.

A $1 million grant from The Dow Chemical Company provides funding for the Center City Redevelopment Plan and identified projects resulting from the plan.
